ABOUT

UNITI App is a mobile application that redefines the way guided tours are organized.
Instead of traditional radio sets, both guides and participants use their own smartphones and headphones to connect and communicate in real time.
The goal was to design a tool that makes communication intuitive and effortless — so that tourists can focus on the experience, while guides manage their groups with ease and confidence. WEBSITE

TASK

SOLUTION

Discovery & UX
I began with a competitive analysis to understand pain points of existing tour guidance tools — such as complex onboarding, unclear connection states, and poor group management flows.
From these insights, I designed clear, minimal user journeys covering:

  • joining a group via access code,

  • connection management for guides,

  • listening to live audio streams,

  • sending quick alerts and announcements.

The guiding principle was “zero cognitive load” — ensuring users could explore with no distractions or friction.

UI & Design System
Next, I created a complete Design System in Figma, built on Material Design principles and optimized for scalability.
It included a comprehensive component library covering typography, color tokens, spacing, buttons, forms, lists, and cards — all modular and consistent for efficient product growth.
This structure enabled the development team to iterate and implement quickly, keeping visual consistency across every screen.

Brand & Art Direction
In parallel, I designed the new visual identity for UNITI: modern and tech-forward, yet approachable and human.
 The brand system included:

  • a refined logo and custom iconography,

  • a cohesive social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram),

  • printed materials for marketing and events (flyers, business cards, roll‑ups, posters).

The goal was to build a unified visual language that communicates the product's essence — connected, human, effortless.

Handoff & Collaboration
I prepared development‑ready Figma files with detailed interaction notes and logic documentation.
Close collaboration with the engineering team ensured a seamless handoff and reduced implementation time, maintaining design integrity throughout development.

Through a coherent design system, simple interaction logic, and a strong visual identity, UNITI App delivered a user experience that’s both intuitive for travelers and powerful for guides.
Within the first few weeks of launch, the app reached over 2,000 users, with multiple travel companies adopting it as a standard alternative to traditional radio systems.
UNITI quickly proved that good design isn’t about adding complexity - it’s about removing friction.

Reflection
The biggest challenge was balancing technological functionality, ease of use, and brand coherence.
Iterative testing with real guides and travelers allowed us to refine and validate the flows that truly worked in real‑world conditions. This project reinforced a principle I deeply believe in:
design should empower connection - not distraction.
